TIKA backs second National STEM Robotics Olympiad held in the Kyrgyz

(MENAFN) The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) played a key role in supporting the second National STEM Robotics Olympiad, held in Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek.

Around 400 students aged 7 to 14 took part in the competition on Monday, which was organized by the Kyrgyz Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation. Officials from the ministry, the Turkish Embassy, and TIKA attended the event at the Gazprom Sports Complex.

“Education in Kyrgyzstan is our priority. Here, we see the scientists and engineers of the future. We understand once again how right our efforts in education are,” said Kursat Dulkadir, education counselor at the Turkish Embassy in Bishkek. He also extended congratulations to the students on behalf of Türkiye.

Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation Aibek Chotonov emphasized the growing interest in robotics among children in the country. Meanwhile, TIKA Coordinator Mehmet Bodur noted that the organization will continue to nurture young talents “who will build the shared future of Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan.”

Participants came from a variety of institutions, including the Science Bishkek Innovation Center, established by TIKA; the Bishkek Kyrgyz-Turkish Anatolian High School under Türkiye’s Ministry of National Education; schools in Bishkek operated by the Turkish Maarif Foundation; and 41 schools affiliated with the Kyrgyz Ministry of Science.
